Shopping
From kitschy souvenirs to haute couture, the Seattle-area shopping scene has something for everyone. Nordstrom’s flagship store is at the heart of the Downtown shopping district, as is Macy’s and two distinct shopping complexes, Pacific Place and Westlake Center.
Wander through Seattle’s landmark Pike Place Market for some foodie treats and beautiful flower bouquets, not to mention some unique local art and classic souvenirs. “The Market” features 200 stores distributed on many floors between First Avenue and the waterfront. In addition, there are over 50 eateries, from doughnut and hot dog stands to fine dining restaurants. And don’t forget to stop for a caffeine recharge at the original Starbucks café across the street.
A short trip across Lake Washington to Downtown Bellevue provides another opportunity for outstanding retail therapy. The Shops at the Bravern boast high-end retailer such as Hermes, Jimmy Choo, and Nieman Marcus, while nearby Bellevue Square is home to a wide variety of stores such as Eddie Bauer, Crate and Barrel, and The North Face.
